Via RFT Logistics you can apply for long-item storage. At our location (Borchwerf industrial estate) we offer thousands of square meters for warehousing specifically for long goods. Storing long items requires more than our regular warehousing services. Long-item storage requires extra attention and expertise; we provide the capacity and the experienced staff!

It seems logical and plausible that several logistics service providers do this, but the market for long goods storage is a niche market.
Not every company with a large warehouse can realize long goods storage. Because it often lacks space (think of passages, access, layout), skilled logistics people and the right forklifts. They must be able to remove the products from the container or tautliner both in length and in width.
We unload long items in two ways: from a sea container at the rear and from the side of a trailer when we remove the tarp from the trailer (tautliner). The combination of suitable forklifts and people who master the techniques ensures reliable handling to and from the warehouse.
What kind of long goods are we talking about exactly?
RFT Logistics mainly collaborates with several large Dutch hardwood importers originating from the region around Malaysia and Indonesia. These are hardwood beams up to 6 meters long. In consultation, in various cases it can also involve products that are somewhat longer. Long goods storage also makes it possible to accommodate materials other than wood. Think of iron or metal tubes for racks, frames, or shelves. Long concrete objects are also eligible for long-goods storage. From length storage to total distribution care.
Using an example, we explain what the long-goods storage process could look like. But be sure to have us inform you in person: we’ll think along with you. One of our regular clients has few physical resources of their own, but they do have the right connections in Southeast Asia regarding importing tropical hardwood. When he purchases a load of hardwood and the container arrives at the Dutch port, he signals us to arrange all transport and storage in full. That includes handling the customs administration, but also the transport to Roosendaal, the tactical placement of the long goods in our warehouse, and then (after a few weeks or months) transporting those goods to the end user. In that entire process we play the leading role.

Of course, we would like to know in advance how your shipment is packaged. We prefer products that are palletized, or can be palletized. And it's always nice if you have your own forklift when we come on-site to load or unload. We can always load/unload the pallets with the help of a loading ramp.
